Novo Nordisk Education Foundation (NNEF) is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 with the purpose of spreading awareness and imparting education on diagnosing, managing and control of serious chronic diseases in India.

NNIPL is the Indian subsidiary of Novo Nordisk A/S (NN AS), a leading global healthcare company, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Denmark.

Novo Nordisk’s purpose is to drive change to defeat serious chronic diseases built upon its heritage in diabetes. The company does so by pioneering scientific breakthroughs, expanding access to its medicines, and working to prevent and ultimately cure disease. Novo Nordisk employs about 68,800 people in 80 countries and markets its products in around 170 countries.

NNEF primarily works towards creating capacity in healthcare resources, spreading awareness about serious chronic diseases and concomitant complications, and creating linkages with government to function through the public private partnership (PPP) model in order to create a sustainable community serious chronic diseases management programme in India.

The PPP allows the stakeholders to leverage NNEF’s global expertise in the management of diabetes and other chronic diseases and to channel it efficiently through the administrative resources of various states.

It thus creates a model which enables the best use of government resources for world-class diabetes management and other chronic diseases solutions and hence, is efficient, effective, and economical.

The NNEF initiatives are aimed to improve lives of people with diabetes and other chronic diseases in India and reduce costs associated with them.
